Tool #5 Lifeline

I had fun putting in an Xtranormal Video and a ToonDoo cartoon.  I learned a lot about embedding a link and another video.  I think both tools could be used by my second grade students!  It takes awhile to "learn" each site and how to add pictures, motions and sound.  However, with some practice, the students will enjoy doing it!

Xtranormal:  Interview the person they are researching for their biography

ToonDoo:  Show a tribes agreement when 2 friends are interacting

I look forward to using more of these tools in my classroom!

Tool #4 Lifeline

I really enjoyed this tool!  I saw Sliderocket and Stupeflix as two possible Apps I would use with my students in the classroom.  I will also use Google Images, Google Maps and Google Earth.

I can see how using Google Docs and forms would benefit the team and how we collaborate on team planning.  It would help us continue to stay organized.  I do think we would have to rethink how we communicate now with numerous emails and how Google Docs would eliminate that burden.

I need to continue to practice using Google Apps so I can work more efficiently.

Tool #3 Embed a Video and Dropbox

Wow!  I had so much fun finding a video to embed.  I chose Gotta Keep Reading since I love teaching reading to my students!  I found this video on YouTube.  I ran into trouble embedding the Aggie War Hymn so I will be asking for help from one of my co-workers.  I enjoy using Discovery Education for many of our second grade units.

Copyright:  I was happy to learn that teachers are allowed to use videos and images from the internet for educational purposes!  Teachers need all the help and support they can get to help students learn!

I started a Dropbox account and started loading pictures for our second grade biography unit.  I need more guidance on how to get the images to the Dropbox.  I did it, but I think there might be an easier way to do it than what I did.

Tool #2 Building A PLN

I think it is very important as a teacher to build a PLN.  Teachers like to learn from one another.  We beg, borrow and steal ideas from each other all the time.  It feels a little weird to share my thoughts and know that other people are reading my ideas.  Hopefully, this will get better with my practice on my part.  I do enjoy reading my colleagues' comments about my blog site.  I hope to continue to learn from their expertise.

The site I liked the most was Technology Tidbits:  Thoughts of a Cyber Hero

Tool #1 Post Lifeline-Embedding a VOKI

Today, I was taught how to create a blog and create a VOKI.  It was very interesting!  Our leader took us step-by-step through the process so it was quite easy.  It will be fun to blog--something I have always wanted to learn how to do.  The avatar I created on VOKI turned out really cute.  I had assistance embedding it to my blog. I hope readers find it fun to read my blogs!
